Options for different needs

A plan built around the tooth, not a one-size-fits-all menu

A small cavity may call for a filling, while a tooth with more extensive structural damage may need a crown. A bridge or denture can replace missing teeth, and root canal treatment may preserve a tooth when infection or inflammation reaches its inner tissue. The right choice depends on what remains healthy, how your bite functions, and what you want to protect.

Before treatment

Start with an examination and an honest discussion

Your visit may include an examination, diagnostic images when appropriate, and questions about pain, sensitivity, medical history, allergies, previous dental work, and your priorities. We will explain what we see, why a treatment may help, and what alternatives or limits matter. A crown, bridge, root canal, or denture is not appropriate for every tooth or every person.

If you have a loose or damaged restoration, a new bite problem, or symptoms that concern you, call rather than waiting for the issue to worsen. For severe swelling or trouble breathing or swallowing, seek emergency medical help.

Planning your care

Understand the sequence and the investment

Some care can be completed in one visit; other treatment is staged. A crown or bridge may involve preparing the tooth, taking an impression or scan, placing a temporary when needed, and returning for the final restoration. Dentures can require adjustment as your mouth adapts. After treatment, daily home care and regular checkups help your dentist monitor the restoration and the teeth supporting it.

There is no single restorative fee. The number of teeth, materials, preparatory care, laboratory work, and follow-up affect an estimate. We accept Visa, MasterCard, CareCredit, and Cherry payment plans. We also offer an in-house Discount Dental Plan (not dental insurance). Insurance benefits and financing terms vary by plan and provider. Our team will review your options before treatment.

Real words. Real reassurance.

Feel heard, from the first visit.

A little clarity helps

Restorative Care: Your Questions, Answered.

There is no one-size-fits-all treatment plan. Bring your questions—we’ll help you understand what fits your smile.

How do I know whether I need a filling or a crown?

The extent of decay or damage and the amount of healthy tooth remaining guide that decision. A filling may repair a smaller area, while a crown covers and strengthens a tooth that needs more support. An examination is needed to recommend the appropriate option.

What can replace a missing tooth?

A bridge or denture may be appropriate depending on how many teeth are missing, the health of nearby teeth and gums, your bite, and your goals. Dental implants are also a separate restorative pathway. We can explain the choices and their limitations during a consultation.

What should I expect after restorative treatment?

The timeline varies. A filling may allow you to return to normal activities promptly, while staged care or multiple restorations may require more visits. Temporary sensitivity or discomfort can occur. Contact the office if a restoration feels off, causes a bad taste, or your symptoms persist.

How can I discuss the cost of restorative care?

Ask for an individualized estimate before treatment. We can discuss current payment options, listed insurance participation, the discount dental plan, and whether CareCredit or Cherry may be available. Call (225) 665-2417 to discuss your plan or estimate.
