A proactive starting point
Small steps can help you stay ahead
Preventive care is designed to identify concerns while they are easier to address and to support healthy teeth and gums between visits. A visit may include an oral exam and professional cleaning, with fluoride or sealants discussed when they fit your needs. We also offer periodontal deep cleaning, night guards, and sports guards within our broader preventive-care options.
Children and adults can benefit from preventive care, but the right mix differs. Fluoride helps strengthen enamel and support resistance to decay; sealants can cover the pits and grooves of back teeth where food and plaque are harder to clean. Neither replaces daily brushing, cleaning between teeth, or regular clinical review.
Oral exams
A dentist reviews your teeth, gums, and current concerns so the next step is based on what is actually present.
Cleanings and gum care
Routine cleaning removes buildup that home care cannot, while deeper gum cleaning may be considered when inflammation or deposits extend below the gumline.
Targeted protection
Fluoride, sealants, Curodont Repair Fluoride, and fitted guards are options to discuss when your examination shows a reasonable purpose for them.
What to expect
Your consultation connects the pieces
The team will ask about symptoms, home-care habits, medical history, and goals, then examine your mouth. They can explain what they see, which preventive options are relevant, and what can wait. If an early, non-cavitated enamel lesion is a concern, Curodont Repair Fluoride may be discussed.
Your plan may be as simple as a cleaning and home-care adjustments, or it may include follow-up for gum health, a protective sealant, fluoride, or a custom guard. Preventive visits do not eliminate the possibility of decay, gum disease, wear, or other oral-health changes, so ongoing review remains important.
Clear choices
Discuss timing and payment before treatment
There is no single preventive-care fee that fits every patient. We can explain the recommended services and current terms after reviewing your needs. We work with numerous dental insurance companies and accept Visa, MasterCard, CareCredit, and Cherry payment plans. Insurance benefits and financing terms vary by plan and provider. Our team will review your options before treatment.

A little clarity helps
Preventive Care: Your Questions, Answered.
There is no one-size-fits-all treatment plan. Bring your questions—we’ll help you understand what fits your smile.
How often should I have an exam and cleaning?
The right interval depends on your oral health, gum condition, decay risk, home care, and treatment history. Ask the Bencaz team to recommend a schedule after an examination rather than assuming the same interval applies to everyone.
Are fluoride treatments useful for adults as well as children?
Fluoride can help prevent decay across the lifespan, but an in-office treatment is not automatically needed for every person. Your dentist can consider your cavity risk, enamel, exposure to fluoride, and other factors before recommending it.
Who may benefit from dental sealants?
Sealants are thin coatings for the pits and grooves of back teeth. They are often considered for children as permanent molars come in, but candidacy depends on the tooth’s condition and your dentist’s assessment. Sealants do not replace brushing, cleaning between teeth, or exams.
What is Curodont Repair Fluoride?
It is an option to discuss for suitable early, non-cavitated enamel lesions. It is not appropriate for every situation and does not guarantee that all cavities can be stopped or avoid a filling or other restorative care. An examination is needed to determine whether it belongs in your plan.
